The PNN Guide

Cell Phones-Journalism on the Road

Next up in the toolbox is the Mobile tool, which lets you post photos from your cell phone. It's similar to the "Add Text" tool, just geared for your cell phone. If you have a camera cell phone or if it can send email messages, you can post photos via your phone.

To Do: If you have a camera cell phone, click on the "Mobile" tool. When the edit box appears, click on the "Email" tab.

You'll see those rather strange email addresses again, with the one you chose earlier marked as "in use."

To Do: Choose one of the remaining email addresses by clicking in the box to its left.

Now, set up that email address as a contact in your cell phone. Once it's set up, it will be easy to post photos.

To Do: Click "Add Cell Phone" to put the box away.

You've just added a blank cell phone box in the left-hand column. Locate it, and then let's post a picture to it.

Take out your cell phone and take a picture. Most cameras will ask what you want to do with the photo. "Send" should be one of the options. Choose "Send," then select "in an email" (or something similar), choose your PNN address, and send it. That's it. If you wait a couple of minutes and refresh your newscast, it will appear! This is a great way to send in photos while you're on the road.
